Siemens CEO to step down early

8 Jul 2004

Siemens’ chief executive officer Heinrich von Pierer has announced that he will resign from his position earlier than expected, as the company’s mobile and network businesses prepare to be merged. Pierer, who has led Siemens for twelve years, will stand down in January 2005 despite originally being expected to remain until 2006. Board member Klaus Kleinfeld will take over the position.
