Vodafone Italy announces UMTS launch for consumers

Following the successful trial of 3G services in December 2003 and the rollout of its PC Data Card in February this year, Vodafone Italy says it has launched a full-blown commercial UMTS offering in Italy to run alongside its existing GSM/GPRS network. The new service is an enhanced version of its Vodafone Live! offering and will initially be launched on two handsets – the Samsung Z105 and the Sony Ericsson Z1010.
