Carlyle and Kyocera to buy DDI Pocket?

US private equity group Carlyle and Japanese technology company Kyocera have entered into negotiations to offer USD2.1 billion for Japanese cellco DDI Pocket. Under the proposed agreement, Carlyle would take control of DDI with a 60% stake, with Kyocera taking 30% and KDDI, which currently owns the cellco, retaining 10%.
