Public services regulator Superservicios is looking for a strategic investor to take over Barranquilla municipal telco EDT after it ordered the company to be liquidated. In the interim nominal ownership of the operator has been transferred to a holding company owned by power companies Cundinamarca, Narino and Huila, and state broadcasters Audiovisuales and TV Andina. The regulator wants to replace EDT with a new operator called Barranquilla Telecomunicaciones, ideally controlled by local investors, though it said international bidders would also be welcomed.
