BT joins forces with Hewlett Packard

5 May 2004

UK incumbent BT Group and the world’s second largest computer maker Hewlett Packard have entered into a USD1.5 billion (GBP839 million) agreement under which the former will manage the US company’s voice and data networks and call centres in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, whilst Hewlett Packard will manage the telco’s IT infrastructure in the UK. The two companies hope that the deal will enable them to generate much higher revenues for each other. They plan to target enterprises and government organisations in Europe.
