DiGi orders EDGE

Malaysian cellco DiGi Telecommunications has contracted German equipment supplier Siemens to expand its EDGE network in north and south Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley region. In May 2003 Siemens provided EDGE infrastructure for DiGi’s network in the capital city, and under the latest deal will install 170 EDGE base stations to upgrade the operator’s GSM network in the greater Kuala Lumpur area.
