Tele2 extends Russian footprint

Pan-European mobile operator Tele2 has launched a GSM network in the Russian region of Chelyabinsk to take the number of networks it operates in the country to ten. The Chelyabinsk region has a population of around 3.6 million and a mobile penetration rate of 22%. Tele2 is planning to launch an eleventh Russian network before the end of June.
