Cable TV operators look to voice market

14 Apr 2004

Brazil’s cable TV operators have revealed plans to start providing commercial voice telephony services in 2005, following two years of tests. According to the president of industry association ABTA, Francisco Valim, the operators are still concerned about the pricing of services and how much revenue they can derive from entering the sector. The cable TV companies have already edged into the broadband arena, claiming a 15% market share at the end of 2003.
