PCS licence to go on sale by year-end?

Colombia’s telecoms regulator, the Communications Ministry, has announced plans to either hold an auction process for the country’s fourth mobile licence – which will be a PCS concession – or to sell additional spectrum to existing operators before the end of 2004. The Ministry will contract US-based consultancy firm Pyramid Research to carry out a study on the performance of the country’s first PCS operator Colombia Móvil before making a decision.
