SingTel plans USD500 million submarine cable

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) and 15 other South East Asian carriers have announced plans to build a UD500 million submarine cable linking the region with the Middle East and Europe. The 20,000km cable will land in 14 countries and is expected to be in service by the third quarter of 2005.
