TeliaSonera chairman Tapio Hintikka has stepped down from the telco’s board with immediate effect after repeated clashes with other directors. Mr Hintikka has been head of the company since it was formed following the merger of Telia and Sonera in December 2002. Acting chairman Carl Bennet said that Mr Hintikka had differing opinions over how ‘board decisions should be implemented’ and renumeration levels.
