Internet users increase by 51% in 2003

According to a report published by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), the number of internet users in Hungary stood at 674,000 at the end of 2003, an increase of 51% on 2002. The number of broadband subscribers grew from 63,000 to 260,000, while dial-up and ISDN users stood at 391,000. During the year nine new ISPs entered the market, taking the total number of players to 71. Revenues for the sector grew by 48% in the year, to HUF31.2 billion.
