KPN sets June 3G date

KPN Mobile has announced that it will be launching its 3G efforts in June, with business customers of its E-Plus subsidiary in Germany set to be among the first to try out the new network. Services will subsequently be expanded to corporate customers in the Netherlands in July and Belgium shortly after. By the end of 2004 E-Plus plans to have UMTS coverage of 300 towns and cities, while in the Netherlands it will have coverage of 40 cities plus all major transport routes. By the end of 2005 KPN expects to have invested EUR1.4 billion in 3G.
