Norfolk Island to get state-run monopoly operator

The Australian territory of Norfolk Island has been given permission to grant the country’s state-run telco Norfolk Telecom a monopoly on the provision of satellite communications services. Analysts have suggested that the move could mean bad news for the country’s private internet service providers, but the country’s Finance Minister, Graeme Donaldson, says that they have nothing to fear from the changes.
