Opposition MPs threaten to derail Telstra sale

Australia’s Federal Government has once again presented its controversial Telstra bill to parliament, prompting a swift response from opposition MPs and minor parties who have reaffirmed their intentions to prevent any further sale during the life of the current government. Democrats and Greens are opposed to any further sale and, if defeated during its second reading, the bill could be a trigger for a ‘double dissolution’ election.
