The total number of WAP impressions downloaded by UK users in January 2004 reached 1.2 billion, up 20% on the figure recorded for the previous month. According to the Mobile Data Association (MDA), the total from the big four cellcos O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone takes the daily average to 38 million, more than double the 17 million page average of January 2003. Ringtones and games downloads continue to drive the growth: the MDA publishes a ‘Top 10 Chart’ of the most popular downloads, with January’s chart as follows:
