Telesp to utilise IP for half its long-distance traffic

5 Mar 2004

Sao Paulo-based fixed line services provider Telesp says it plans to run around 50% of its DLD and ILD traffic over its new IP network by the end of the year. The company paid USD13.9 million for the system, which was installed by Siemens of Germany and local firms Tropico and CpqD in 2003. Although it has no firm plans to launch VoIP for corporate intranets, it has not ruled out setting up such services if demand materialises.
