LogicaCMG wins IP contract

Iraqi mobile operator Atheer Telecommunications, part of the MTC Group of companies, has awarded the UK’s LogicaCMG a contract to provide an IP-based Next Generation Messaging solution, including a Short Messaging Service Centre. Logica was awarded the deal, the value of which was not disclosed, after completing a similar contract for MTC Kuwait. Atheer’s network is expected to launch commercially in Southern Iraq next month.
