Telecom Namibia snaps up Angolan fixed line licensee

Telecom Namibia is to enter the Angolan telecoms market, taking a 44% stake in fixed line start up Mundo Startel for an undisclosed sum. Telecom has already announced that it will invest NAD98 million (USD14 million) into the operator for an aggressive rollout of next generation networks based on fixed wireless technologies. Luanda-based Mundo Startel has a five year licence to provide national telecommunications services across Angola.
