Nokia and DoCoMo in 3G talks

23 Feb 2004

Nokia has confirmed that it is in talks with NTT DoCoMo to supply the Japanese cellco with 3G handsets, following a local newspaper report that claimed DoCoMo was to begin offering budget priced Nokia phones in a bid to boost take up of its 3G services. Nokia has thus far struggled to penetrate the mature Japanese market, where the majority of operators’ handsets are supplied by domestic vendors.
