BT passes two million broadband subscriber mark

23 Feb 2004

UK incumbent BT says it has signed up its two millionth wholesale broadband connection target just two months into the calendar year for which it was set. The company has signed up a million connections in the last eight months and the popularity of the service is helping it to roll out services more quickly. More than 85% of British homes and businesses are now connected to a broadband-enabled exchange, a figure which is expected to reach 90% by the summer.
