Ericsson: SE Asia to spend USD4 billion on 2G

Research by Ericsson suggests that South East Asian firms will spend up to USD4 billion on 2G wireless infrastructure by the end of 2005. According to the Swedish company, its ASEAN operations – which cover the countries of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – aim to secure up to 30% of all new orders . The Asia-Pacific region generated 23% of Ericsson’s Q42003 sales, with South East Asia being the biggest contributor behind China.
