Huawei ups Sunday stake

10 Feb 2004

Chinese equipment supplier Huawei Technologies has bought an extra three million shares in Hong Kong mobile operator Sunday Communications, to take its stake to 5.01%. The two companies have been working together since December 2003 when Sunday contracted Huawei to supply and deploy a W-CDMA network. Sunday, the smallest 3G operator in Hong Kong, has welcomed the recent purchase as it needs investment for its network.
