Global spending to reach USD1 trillion in 2004

According to the IDC Worldwide Telecommunications Black Book, spending in the global telecoms markets will surpass the USD1 trillion mark for the first time ever in 2004 a 4.4% increase on the figure for 2003. It is expected to enjoy a compound annual growth rate of 4.7% during 2003-2007. The report suggests that data offerings will play an important role in the predicted growth, in particular IP-based services.
