Telmex 2003 results: revenues stable, income up

4 Feb 2004

Telmex has reported a marginal decline in revenues of 0.3% to MXP116.85 billion for the full year ended 31 December 2003, although net income climbed 10.3% to MXP22.45 billion. At the end of 2003 Telmex had 15.68 million lines in service, an 8.6% increase in twelve months, while the number of digital lines jumped by more than 25% to 5.49 million. An economic slowdown in Mexico has seen Telmex look internationally for expansion. In the final quarter of 2003 it agreed to acquire the assets of AT&T Latin America for an undisclosed sum.
