Electronics makers’ profits rise

29 Jan 2004

Japanese electronics manufacturers NEC and Fujitsu have reported a rise in profits for 2003, to JPY11.2 billion and JPY7.65 billion respectively, compared to net losses of JPY4.56 billion and JPY24.9 billion at the end of 2002. The companies attributed the robust results to a strong demand in the digital consumer electronics market, as well as increases in exports and stock prices.
