DT sets DSL targets

Germany’s dominant telco Deutsche Telekom has said that it is aiming to have signed up at least ten million DSL broadband subscribers by the start of 2007, up from the current tally of just over four million. The operator plans to spend the next two years concentrating its efforts on expanding the availability of its T-DSL product portfolio to rural parts of Germany. Deutsche Telekom recently called for the country’s regulator to adopt a relaxed legislatory regime towards DSL to help boost the sector’s development by market forces.
