Spanish mobile operator Telefónica Móviles™ has released its results for 2003, revealing that it added 10.5 million new subscribers to its networks worldwide, an increase of 25% on the previous year, taking its global customer base to over 52 million. Of the total, its Spanish operations accounted for 19.66 million customers, a year-on-year increase of 7%, while new additions at its Latin American subsidiaries totalled 29.7 million. In Brazil, TM’s joint venture with Portugal Telecom, Vivo, added around seven million users during the year to take its total to 20.6 million, while TM Mexico added over a million new customers, 725,000 in the fourth quarter alone, to take its total to 3.5 million. In Argentina, the company reported 1.8 million customers, up 13% on the previous year, while it also reported 1.5 million subscribers in Peru and 2.3 million in Chile. In Morocco, Médi Telecom reached 2.1 million active clients, up 29% on the previous year.
