Interoute accuses Colt of illegally piggybacking

26 Jan 2004

Pan-European telco Interoute has reportedly discovered that its rival Colt Telecom has been using its ducts to lay its own cables without permission. Interoute has launched a formal investigation into the matter, to find out whether the practice is widespread among carriers. Colt has admitted to one instance of laying a cable within Interoute’s ducts, but claims that the case was down to human error and was not intentional.
