The Irancell consortium, led by Turkish mobile operator Turkcell, has qualified to bid in the country’s mobile licence tender, having passed the preliminary evaluation stage. Meanwhile, Turkcell itself has secured a USD100 million facility from the Islamic Development Bank and HSBC to upgrade its GSM network.
