Marconi bags plum BT deal

15 Jan 2004

Marconi has won a two year extension to a contract with BT Wholesale to provide back-up for the telco’s voice, data and broadband networks in the UK. Designed to help reduce the operational cost of running the network, the agreement is based on managing support and repair transaction volumes and extends the scope and duration of an existing agreement. It includes support for Marconi equipment in BT’s PSTN, transmission and DSL network, as well as its core intelligent network platform. The contract, which will now end in January 2008, is estimated to be worth in the region of GBP100 million.
