The UK’s dominant telco BT Group will later today announce a deal to install its OpenZone Wireless Local Area Network (W-LAN) facilities in all the UK outlets of US fast food restaurant chain McDonalds. The alliance follows similar agreements signed recently between BT and a variety of hotel and restaurant chains including Costa Coffee and Hilton Hotels. BT currently has around 1,700 W-LAN hotspots in operation across the UK, a figure it is aiming to increase to 4,000 by the end of the summer.
