The Oman Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has revealed plans to award a second mobile phone licence by the end of the first half of 2004, and has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers to oversee the bidding process. Oman is one of the few markets in the Middle Eastern region that is still served by just one mobile operator, the Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel).
