Telecom Plus outlook ‘promising’

28 Nov 2003

London-based Telecom Plus, a company which supplies utility services including telephony, gas and internet access to the residential and SOHO markets, has reported encouraging first half results. Pre-tax profit for the half year to 30 September 2003 was up 96% at GBP4.9 million on the back of a 46% hike in turnover to GBP37.2 million. The group’s customer base grew by 26,000 to 160,000. Commenting on the results, Chairman Peter Nutting said ‘This is an exceptionally strong set of results. Over the last six months, the recent higher rates of new customer growth within our core Telecom Plus business have been maintained delivering a significant increase in the number of services we supply to our customers. We remain strongly positioned as the UK’s first low cost multi-service utility company and I continue to view the future with considerable confidence.’
