Tele2 Norge has passed operational control of its LAN-to-LAN customers to broadband network service provider BaneTele after claiming it was unable to invest the necessary investment funds to make the service profitable. Tele2 will continue to offer internet services, but only via dial-up or ADSL. BaneTele presides over a nationwide fibre-optic network extending 12,000 route km and offers a range of services based on the DWDM, SDH and ADSL protocols. It also has network infrastructure in Sweden and Denmark and points of presence in Stockholm and Copenhagen.
