MII sets mobile interconnection fee

13 Nov 2003

China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII) has set an interconnection fee for calls made between the country’s major mobile network operators, China Telecom and China Unicom, in a move aimed at tighter regulation of the market. Mobile phone operators currently do not pay a flat interconnection fee. The tariff has been set at CNY0.06 a minute and will take effect from 1 December.
