Telecard contracts ZTE for WiLL upgrade

Pakistani telco Telecard has signed a contract with Chinese equipment vendor ZTE Corp for the upgrade of its CDMA wireless in the local loop (WiLL) network to increase its capacity from 60,000 to 125,000 lines. The two companies expect to have completed the deal within six months, covering the majority of Pakistan’s urban population. The deal will be the seventh upgrade of Telecard’s CDMA network since it was launched.
