Versatel reports 68% rise in revenues

Amsterdam-based telco Versatel has reported a 68% jump in revenues quarter-on-quarter for the three months to the end of September following the addition of 26,000 new DSL customers at its businesses across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Versatel, a facilities-based local access broadband network operator offering telephony and data-based services, reported a total DSL customer base of 210,000 at the end of the quarter and boasted EUR150 million in cash on its balance sheet. The operator has signed an agreement with Telefort to launch mobile services in the Netherlands via an enhanced service provider (ESP) model and plans to rollout services before the end of the year.
