Vivo selects Motorola for cdma2000 1X network

Vivo, the joint venture between Telefónica and Portugal Telecom, has contracted Motorola to supply base stations and transmission equipment for its cdma2000 1X network in the north and centre-west regions of the country. The agreement signifies the first phase of Vivo’s network migration from TDMA to cdma2000 1X technology, and will allow the cellco to provide high speed data services.
