ZTE to ramp up overseas operations

15 Oct 2003

Equipment manufacturer ZTE has said it plans to increase its overseas activity, saying it expects as much as 50% of its revenues to come from abroad by around 2008. The current split is 75-25 in favour of its local operations. ZTE believes that it can become a major competitor to European vendors, with a strong advantage coming from the lower cost of salaries for employees in China.
