DoCoMo signs up one millionth 3G customer

Japan’s dominant cellco NTT DoCoMo announced yesterday that subscriptions to its FOMA third-generation (3G) mobile service has passed the one million mark, two years after launch. The operator said it will continue to work on improving the quality of handsets and the coverage of the network, with particular emphasis on the rollout of microbase stations to improve signal reception inside buildings and underground shopping malls.
