Vodafone delays 3G launch

26 Sep 2003

Vodafone chief executive Arun Sarin said yesterday that his company will begin marketing third-generation services on a pan-European basis in September 2004, six months later than previously announced. The operator is thought to be concerned at the lack of suitable 3G handsets and the problems with dropped calls between 2G and 3G networks currently being encountered by operators which are trialing next-generation services.
