Danish telco TDC has lost ground in the wireline and wireless markets, according to data released by regulator Telestyrelsen for the first half of 2003. At the end of June 2003 TDC’s share of the wireline market had fallen to 63%, from 65% at mid-2002. Chief rivals TeliaSonera Danmark and Sonofon raised their market share to 6% and 3% respectively. In the wireless market TDC’s subsidiary TDC Mobil claimed 35% of the market, down from 39% a year earlier, reflecting a 46,000 fall in its customer base. On a more positive note TDC managed to claw back market share in the ADSL arena, adding 159,000 customers in the twelve months to June 2003 to take its total to 391,000 or 82% of the total Danish market.
