Sony Ericsson killer phone charger scare

11 Sep 2003

Sony Ericsson has recalled around 350,000 UK phone chargers amid fears that they could explode. The CST-13 charger is manufactured in Thailand by Delta and supplied with Sony Ericsson T68i, T300, T310 and T610 model handsets, as well as being available separately. According to the vendor, a pressure build-up in the charger can cause part of the plastic to break off, potentially injuring someone. There have been ten reported cases of the fault so far, though fortunately no one has yet been injured.
