Telecsa awards Eric USD68 million deal

Ecuadorian wireless start up Telecsa, a joint venture between Andinatel, Pacifictel and SwedTel, has awarded a USD68 million contract to Ericsson for the supply of a CDMA network. Under the terms of the deal, Ericsson will provide five year financing with a two year period of grace and a 4.58% interest rate. The contract includes the roll out of CDMA 2000 1xEV-DO equipment. Telecsa plans to launch on 1 December, with coverage of Quito, Quayaquil and surrounding areas.
