MMS helps boost Cosmote’s 1H returns

29 Aug 2003

Greece’s largest mobile operator Cosmote [London: COSq] has reported revenues of EUR622 million for the first half of 2003, a rise of 13% over the corresponding year-ago period. The company cited a 14% rise in airtime revenues and a 13% increase in monthly service income as the main factors behind the hike in turnover, along with the increasing popularity of its multimedia messaging service (MMS). Cosmote claimed 130,000 registered MMS users at the end of June, whom it claimed were sending an average of 14,000 MMS per day between them.
