According to Ericsson chief executive Carl-Henric Svanberg, multinational companies are likely to drop investments in Sweden significantly if the country says ‘no’ to the euro on 14 September. Svanberg claims that companies like Ericsson will be reluctant to make investments in the krona when their incomes are in bigger currencies such as the euro and the dollar. His announcement follows a recent opinion poll which revealed that 53% of Swedes were planning to vote against joining the single currency.
