Ministry shuts down ‘illegal’ VoIP service

22 Aug 2003

The Ministry of Post and Telematics (MPT) has ordered FPT Communications to shut down its recently-launched internet telephony service, after the government said the company launched without proper authorisation. FPT hopes to receive ministerial approval soon and resume services soon after.
