AirTel hits four million mark

Indian cellco AirTel has announced the signing of its four millionth customer, the first of India’s many mobile operators to do so. The company, which is owned by a consortium including Singapore Telecom (SingTel) and Bharti Televentures, has a national market share of approximately 25% and is planning to invest more than INR12 billion in expanding its network during the current financial year.
