T-Com goes solo

1 Aug 2003

Deutsche Telekom’s (DT) fixed network subsidiary T-Com was today relaunched as an independent brand, incorporating all existing T-ISDN, T-DSL and other fixed network services. T-Com claims to have more than 40 million customers in Germany as well as stakes in businesses in Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia. The split is part of DT’s new strategy of focusing on its four core business areas via four separate subsidiary companies: T-Com, T-Mobile (wireless), T-Online (internet) and IT systems service provider T-Systems.
